Tagged by lil_ida Comment here and I will choose 7 interests I am curious about. Respond in your journal.
1. Doujin Games Doujin games are games are games that aren't made by professional game companies, usually by an individual or a doujin circle. Doujin games are either fanworks, which would take characters from certain other works and put them in the game, or original works, such as a few visual novels (Type Moon's or 07th Expansion's) and the Touhou series.
2. NicoNico Douga Nii-ko Niko Douga~ An amazing video sharing site, mainly because of the content that's on it. The MADs that pop up are hilarious, the comments that assist the video add more to the humor, and the high quality of the videos compared to YouTube (before it supported high quality videos) is just stunning.
3. Taiko no Tatsujin Oh god, how much fun I spend with this, and how much my arms and wrists weep. Taiko no Tatsujin is probably the rhythm game I get the most addicted to. It has sery simple controls for one. There are two sides of the drum, and the outer rims can be hit, totaling in just four buttons, but you don't really need to hit a specific side, just either the center of the drum, or the rim. I have so much fun with various Oni mode songs. Too bad the US only got one version of this, and more than half of the tracklist was poorly done.
4. Kyo-Ani The only animation studio I'm a big fan of. Kyo-Ani, or Kyoto Animation, makes anime such as Haruhi, Lucky Star, Full Metal Panic (not the first season though), and the Key anime.
5. Melnics Waemu yaio omudundisutiemudu tun? Yaio pudiibueburuya waemumuiti. Wow, it's been a while since I've typed in Melnics. Used in Tales of Eternia, Melnics is simply the best language created for the use of a game yet. It's not simply just a letter swap like Al-Bhed, or just an changed font. It's written in English, but in a different font, yes. But the fact that they actually talk in an actual language instead of just giberish made it amazing, even the dubbers attempted it as well. What's even more unique, although you can read the font as English, you will notice the proper nouns (I think only names though) are written differently. Except in the English version. Like my name would be written in all caps as BAE (in Melnics font of course), though would still be pronounced as "Ben". Proper names are based off of kana rather than English. Really, it's hard to explain how the language works overall, but it's real simple once you actually learn it.
6. Namco What can I say? Namco really did some amazing things, and that was to be brave enough and to leap from console to console and making them console exclusives, just to show how amazing each console was. Namco games are really what put my PS2 to work (Tales, Taiko, Katamari), while they got me to actually buy a 360 (Idolmaster, Vesperia).
7. Panel de Pon Yay! The number one game that made me go "wait, how much games have I been missing out on". Before PdP, I was really close-minded on a lot of games. Sure, I was still saying "gameplay over graphics", but that only applied to me as just graphics overall, not style of graphics. You see, I probably would've avoided games like PdP and iM@S because of the way it looks (looks like it's aimed at girls, so not true for iM@S though). However, PdP broke that, and even got me into puzzle games. |
